To start off the New Year Kyle and I took a trip to California. This was my first time traveling to SoCal. Everyone told me I was going to fall in love. (they were right) After 3 long flights, we finally landed in California. I was stoked.
- Go grocery shopping and buy supplies such as; PB&J’s, crackers, and granola bars. Visit a Trader Joe’s nearby, and set up a picnic and enjoy the view.
- Rent a car or RV (we wished we would have rented an RV) that way you can drive, sleep, eat, and whatever else all in the same place.
- Create a budget before you go to stay mindful of your spending and desires.
Our first two nights we stayed in San Francisco, and I fell in love. We saw the golden gate bridge and the bay bridge. We climbed down (and UP) several stairs to get a better view of the bay area. The view was worth it after being winded from all of the steps. We sat up on top of the viewing platform and had a small picnic.
Our Airbnb view: If you look closely you can see the horses enjoying the sunrise. I didn’t want to leave this place. Do you blame me?
My favorite part: I loved having a picnic with a beautiful view of the SanFran Bay area.
The Pacific Highway:
For two days we drove down the Pacific Highway and it was beautiful. We could have arrived in San Diego in less than a day instead we stopped along the way to admire the view. This was my favorite part of the trip the view was unbelievable.
My favorite part: Watching the sunset
We watched the sunset together; it’s the little things ya know?
Finally, we arrived in San Diego. We visited during a rare rainy weekend in southern California, it was still amazing. We visited the Gas Lamp district, San Diego Zoo, toured the U.S.S Midway and checked out the various shopping areas.
My favorite part: Our Airbnb was amazing. The video can be found on my Instagram profile in my travel highlights. I was too excited to worry about photos (sorry).
We had a wonderful time in California. Watching sunsets, laughing, and enjoying memorable moments. I think California might be my favorite trip so far. Overall, having the time to do everything made the visit more enjoyable.
Where should we travel to next? I would love to hear your suggestions.
As always, with love XO,
